Doug Frost - Wine and Media Consultant
How do you find a truly great wine? Ask "America's Master of Wine" Doug Frost! USA Today says, "Doug Frost likely knows as much as anyone in the world about how to make, market, serve and identify wines." Frost, a Kansas City native, began his career as a fine wine wholesaler. For fourteen years, he represented the best wineries and estates from America and the world. Frost has written for several national publications, and authored two books, Uncorking Wine and On Wine. He is one of only three people in the world to pass the rigorous Master Sommelier examination, and has been designated "America's Master of Wine."
This weekend, Frost will use his unique insights to personally choose the wines for Friday night's reception and Saturday's dinner. Join us to celebrate wines from the Spanish region, highlighted by special selections from Pannotia Vineyards.
John Williams - Winemaker
John Williams is a former dairy farmer turned winemaker from upstate New York. Williams grew up in Western New York and attended Cornell University to extend his studies as a dairyman. But his days in the milk barn were numbered. After a college work-study program at Taylor Wine Company, he found inspiration in another beverage, and entered the Enology and Viticulture Masters Program at UC Davis. Following college, he returned to Finger Lakes as the first winemaker at Glenora Wine Cellars. He later moved to the West Coast, and joined the cellars of Stag's Leap. He began making his own wine commercially in 1981on a spot along Mill Creek known as the Frog Farm. From there, it was just a short jump to the historic red barn in Rutherford where Frog's Leap Winery is now housed. Make the "Leap" to this California classic as we celebrate Winemaker John Williams.
