Travel through the more rugged reaches of the canyon, cross the Arkansas border, and ascend some 300 feet to our bison, elk, and longhorn pas­tures before arriving at a rustic campsite, complete with entertainment, old-fashioned games, and a full meal. Don’t forget about the s’mores for dessert.

Kids, ages 4 to 12, join our Activities Team for action packed adventure, lots of great games, and fantastic fun at the Kids’ House! Join Big Cedar staff for an afternoon of Crazy Family Fun to celebrate Labor Day followed by an extravagant fireworks display. Our ancestors relied on stones to make tools and weapons. Remnants and actual arrowheads still exist today. Watch this demonstration to learn how to carve arrowheads from obsidian.

Workshop: This workshop will help you to integrate your soul and personal artistic language into your visual impressions. Frick will give you the confidence to choose value, hue, and temperatures quickly and allow you to spend more of your time translating your emotions and excitement into brush strokes. The workshop will be from held from 9:30-4:00 all three days. All artists from beginners to more advanced painters are welcome to attend.

Paint Out: Allow yourself to be immersed in the beauty of the Ozarks in this open air (en plein air) competition. The Paint Out will consist of two and a half days of painting, including a Quick Draw event and a Night Paint Out. Your artwork will be displayed in the Big Cedar Lodge registration building during the competition. All of the resort guests as well as the general public will be able to purchase your work throughout the event as well as during the art show that will be on the last day. The judging for the competition will be done by Guido Frick. He will also be completing a demonstration painting during the event that will be open to everyone to watch. The painting from this is demo will be auctioned off, with the proceeds benefitting the Branson Arts Council. All 2-D mediums are welcome.

A Natural Paradise with over 8,000 acres providing a fantastic variety of trails for our 50K/25K Trail Run! Located close to Lampe, Missouri, so close to Arkansas that the trails flow over the state line and back. This is truly a trail race with rocks, hills, mud and more to conquer. Wear appropriate footwear and clothing because the race goes on rain or shine. In this area, the weather can be freezing or in the 70's. Be prepared for weather conditions and dress accordingly.
